To avoid confusion with
passwords, your network username and
password are exactly the same as your e-mail
username and password. Basically, you have one
username and password to remember for both your computer login and
your e-mail accounts. When you are on the Waterford School
District Network, and you are prompted to change your password,
(as you are every 90 days) the new password you select will
immediately take effect for both your login to the network and
your e-mail login.
When you open your e-mail, you
will see a box pop up asking for your username and password. It will display your e-mail name in the user name box. Delete this and type in the username and password that you type in
each morning to log on to your computer. That's it! You will
not be asked to do this next time you open your e-mail.
Wait, there's more...Do you
check your e-mail using the web? Now when you open up Internet
Explorer, go to
http://mail.wsdmi.org,
and it will ask you for your username and password.
Below is information that displays a contrast of the
current version of email:

This is the way that
e-mail is set up. The following pictures
represent e-mail in Microsoft Outlook, and on the
Internet. The first two pictures show you how e-mail works
when you are on the Internet. It looks just like Outlook;
however, you are in your Internet browser. You may use this
option to check your e-mail from any location that has a
connection to the Internet. |

A box will pop up asking
you to log on. You will need to add the district name,
followed by a
\
and your username, then, your password in the
password field.
Login for John Smith would appear as the following:
Waterford\SmithJ01
Your password will be the same. DO
NOT type in anything into the box labeled domain. After you log on, your familiar Outlook
e-mail will appear. You will need to do this each time you go
to get your mail via the web. |
