As a nation, we have all been
felt the powers of the horrible terrorist activities of foreign
and domestic terrorists.
These tragedies, along with with war, the imminent threat of
terrorist acts and occasional school shootings, have
generated great concern of, for and about safety in our schools. These concerns affect everyone-- school personnel, students,
parents and community
members. The
Waterford School District is "ahead of the curve" when it comes to
preventative and precautionary safety and security measures. In
Waterford, we have a safety and security cabinet whose members
meet monthly to review safety and security practices in our
schools. Additionally, this cabinet meets quarterly with the
Waterford Police and Fire Departments and the White Lake Police
and Fire Departments to ensure the safety and security of our
students.
The safety and security of our
students and staff is of paramount importance to our Board of
Education, administration, staff, parents, students and
community. A major goal and strategy for the Waterford School
District Board of Education and administration is that we will
have safe, positive, disciplined and drug-free schools. Our main
priority is that students in our schools will obtain the best
possible education while learning in a safe, constructive
environment.
