Technology Preparation
Tech Prep is a combined secondary and post secondary
program culminating in a post secondary degree or technical certificate.
The Tech Prep curriculum is developed by secondary community college
teachers with input from business, industry, and labor partners. Tech Prep
programs utilize academic and technological knowledge to prepare students
for lifelong learning and careers. Students meeting the criteria can earn
college credits while saving time and money.
The Tech Prep secondary student is one who:

Has declared Tech Prep as his/her curriculum choice by
completing the "Letter of intent" with the counseling
department.

Has and EDP (Educational Development Plan ) showing
election of Tech Prep.

Is following the consortium approved course sequence.

Has completed Tech Prep Courses.

Has achieved secondary level Tech Prep competencies.
The Waterford School District currently has articulation
agreements with Oakland Community College and Baker College. An
articulation program involves a post-secondary institution awarding
advance placement credit's) to students enrolled in specific courses. The
post-secondary institution awards credit in the following classes in which
the students meets all condition and requirements. Students should contact
their counselor for more information regarding the articulation program.
