On Friday, November
21st, 18 Waterford Kettering High School Band students were chosen to
participate in the Central Michigan University Instrumental Workshop, along
with 450 other Michigan high school band students. The workshop featured
performances by CMU's Faculty Jazz Combo, several student chamber ensembles,
and concluded with the CMU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by John
Williamson, Director of Bands. Students were also given the opportunity to
work with CMU professors on each of the wind and piano instruments, learning
various techniques and methods for individual improvement and growth.
