Concert Band 1 (Wind Ensemble) - The top band at WKHS, the Wind Ensemble is open to students in grades 10, 11, 12 and represents the top players in the school on each instrument. If a 9th grade band student is exceptionally talented, he/she may be eligible for this band also.  The group performs at all band concerts and  goes to band festivals.  Members of the Wind Ensemble also have the responsibility to play with the WK Symphony Orchestra the Pit Orchestra for the Fall Musical, as well as participating in District Solo & Ensemble Festival.

Concert Band 2 (Wind Symphony) - The 2nd band at WKHS, the Wind Symphony is open to students in grades 9, 10, 11, 12. The Wind Symphony performs at all WK concert band performances and at band festivals.  This is a large concert band that will play various types of repertoire throughout the school year.  Students who achieve a very high level of performance may eventually be moved up to Concert Band 1 if openings exist at the new semester or school year.

Concert Band 3 (Concert Band) - The 3rd band at WKHS is the Concert Band.  Freshmen are usually in Concert Band 3 to start...those who are at a higher skill level, though, may place in a higher band.  Students in any grade may enroll in this class, however.  Basic musicianship and music theory skills will be emphasized, with the goal of students developing necessary skills to perform at concerts.  Once this is mastered, students may be moved to Concert Band 2 at the beginning of the new semester or the new school year.  This band will be performing at concerts either by itself or, in some cases, they might perform with Concert Band 2.
