Meijer Community Rewards Program
Part of the recently passed Bond Issue was for buying new band and
orchestra instruments for all of the instrumental music programs in the
District. I expect that this will help our programs greatly and
provide us with badly needed instruments. My guess is, however,
that this will not occur until we are toward the end of the 10-year
bond process, meaning our programs will not have the instruments in
time for our current needs and our current students.
Our need for various instruments and equipment is great! In fact,
the total of what we need NOW is in excess of $130,000 worth of
instruments and equipment!
Recently, we took advantage of an opportunity to participate in a new
program offered by the Meijer store chains. We are now enrolled
in the Meijer
Community
Rewards Program. This program allows us to raise funds to
meet our band program’s goals quickly and easily. Here’s how you
can participate and join this program….
First, this is FREE to you and will never cost you a PENNY. What
WILL happen, however, is Meijer will GIVE BACK money from every sale
you make at Meijer to the WK Bands so that we can buy the instruments
and equpment that we need!
You can register on-line at Meijer.com/rewards,
or you go to any Meijer store and fill out a "Guest Card" application
(note: this is NOT a credit card!). You can choose whether you want the
FREE Meijer Guest Card or you might want to get the Meijer Credit Card
instead—that choice is up to you. Either way, swipe one of these
cards at the register when you check out and WE will get a percentage
BACK from Meijer! If you already have a Meijer credit card or a
Meijer guest card, all you have to do is call 800/962-7011 to join the
Community Rewards Program. Give them our Organization Code
Number: 457093 (Waterford Kettering HS Bands).
Here is the exciting part…Meijer will cut us a check EVERY MONTH for
the amount everyone has earned using this program. If you spent
$100-399 that month, Meijer gives us 1% of that back. If you
spent $400-799, Meijer pays us 2.5%. If you spent $800 or more,
we get 4%!
We have been in the program for about 4 months now, and the average
return we have had with 33 persons enrolled is $100/month. That's
not bad! If we get even MORE people to join, we can make even
MORE money on a monthly basis!
I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of my hard-earned money at
Meijer. Now I’m thrilled that I can get a small portion of that
back to help with the great needs in the WK Bands. If we get
everyone to join, this could be much more than a small portion, and
could solve our on-going need for instrument replacements.
The sooner you apply for your Meijer Guest Card, the sooner we will be
receiving a monthly check from Meijer. Please apply today!!
Also, encourage other family members (grandparents, aunts and uncles,
etc.) as well as your friends to apply also. Direct them either
to Meijer’s web site or ask me for another application.
Don't forget...The WKHS Bands Organization Code Number is: 457093. Without
this number, we cannot get the funds.
