Introduction

Welcome to Pierce Middle School PTSA.

Involvement. It's a big responsibility. Because it takes time to involve yourself in the life of your child. What are their friends like? What excites them at school? Questions like these can lead you to the keys to the success of your child in school, with friends, and in life.

You can help your child succeed by providing a home that encourages learning and supports your child's physical, mental, and emotional development. And, you can help your child succeed by working with the school and other groups that have an impact on your child.

Decades of research show that when parents are involved students have:
. Higher grades, test scores, and graduation rates
. Better school attendance
. Increased motivation, better self-esteem
. Lower rates of suspension
. Decreased use of drugs and alcohol
. Fewer instances of violent behavior
. Higher enrollment rates in post-secondary education
