- Cover the table with the newspaper.
- Ask a grown-up to use the knife to cut vegetables
with a flat surface showing.
- Pour a thin layer of paint into a heavy paper plate.
- Dip the flat side of the vegetable in paint.
- Press vegetables onto paper for vegetable prints.

- Wash the celery and cut it into 2"
sticks.
- Cut cleaned carrots into disks for
wheels.
- Push toothpicks through celery and
attach carrot wheels (May need to trim toothpicks).
- Fill with peanut butter, cream cheese,
raisins, cheese, etc. (Remove toothpick before eating!)

Scientific Surveys

- Listen to what your child is thinking,
wondering, deciding (such as "Everybody likes vanilla ice
cream better than chocolate") and pick out the key
factors or elements.
- Do a survey of who's in your house,
maybe offering taste sample if appropriate.
- Chart these ideas and see who likes what
the most, last, etc.
- Make predictions or other connections.
