Points of Pride
Sandburg is located in the quiet neighborhood
of Watkins Lake Estates. It was originally built in 1969. Like many
of the elementary schools, two additions have been added - the gym and the Media
Center. This past summer all the classrooms were remodeled with new
carpet, floors, lightning and cabinets. The Sandburg family has
worked hard on many projects over the years. One project that we are very proud
of is the playground structure in our north playground. Together with
their parents the kids worked hard to design and earn all the money themselves
to pay for the play structure.

Students are involved in assessment through development of portfolios,
student-included conferences and performance demonstrations.
Technology is used to enhance learning effectively both in our
classrooms and in our newly opened computer resource room.
Students are involved in school business partnerships with Metro North
Credit Union.
Sandburg has greater than 90% daily student attendance and 96% parent
participation at conferences.
