First Families is a Waterford
School District program geared to families with children birth
to three years old. Families meet with a teacher once a week in a playgroup setting. Siblings
are welcome as well. Classes are held in the morning,
Monday through Friday. Afternoon classes are held on
Monday and Wednesday.
Enrollment is arranged through the Stepanski office.
Tuition is $80.00 per semester per family.
Families who want to learn
more about developmental timelines or who have some concerns
about their child’s development are encouraged to fill out the
Ages and Stages Questionnaire online. They can discuss the
results with the teacher or with the Project
Find Coordinator.
The support staff who work
here at Stepanski offer their input to our young families during
casual visits to the playgroups. The speech and language
therapist, social worker, occupational therapist, and physical
therapist all visit the classroom during the year to answer any
questions parents might have and to suggest activities that
enhance growth and development. For more information about
First Families please call 248.666.9593.
