Principal's Welcome

Dear Durant Community,

I’d like to welcome you personally to “one of the best kept secrets in Waterford”: Durant High School. Our mission at Durant is to provide a smaller learning environment where students can receive the individual attention they need to succeed. While students come to Durant for many different reasons, they all have one goal in mind: to graduate high school. Our teachers are exemplary in identifying student strengths and weaknesses. They consistently modify their teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. In addition, as a whole school, we strive to instill in students a positive attitude toward learning and to build the drive and determination that is needed in order to become a productive student and member of society. We promote individual accountability while remaining committed to the idea that all of us need a hand once in a while as well. I am incredibly proud of the work we are doing at Durant High School. Our school goal is a simple one: we want to see all of our students earn their diploma and to be ready to go on to college or to join the workforce. We welcome all of our parents and our community to drop by anytime to see the wonderful things happening here every day. It truly is an honor to be your principal.
