Dear Mason Families,
Our focus will continue to be providing a safe environment where learning is the priority. Getting back to school this year has some unique challenges. Transitioning to middle school without physically walking the building, seeing their classrooms and meeting friends, is not the start I want for them. However, please expect that the first week of school will be more of a soft start to provide a transition period for students. It will include attention to social and emotional well-being, on line etiquette, Google classroom procedures, team building activities, and academic screening.
Our priority is to keep students safe and learning. Thank you to the many of you that I have spoken with about your concerns and care. I have received much encouragement over the last several months and it does not go unnoticed. That attitude will be important moving forward. Also, remember to continue to monitor email for important updates.
Finally, I want to officially welcome all of our 6th grade families and any new families entering 7th or 8th grade. Our time to meet and get to know each other more comfortably will be a slower process this year. I do look forward to meeting each and every one of you very soon.
