MASC/MAHS LEADERSHIP AWARDS & RECOGNITION
The Waterford Kettering Student Council & Leadership teams spent February 26-27, 2022, at the Amway Grand Hotel, Grand Rapids, at our annual Michigan Association of Student Council & Honor Societies State Leadership Conference. The students learned a lot about leadership and activities, building and maintaining positive school culture, engaged with schools and students from around the state and had a ton of fun in the process.
Our team of student leaders was recognized for:
- Donating $2,000 to the State charity: Foster Care Closets of Michigan (from our Winter Charity Week) and was the top donor school at the conference, earning the Tonya State Charity award for the second time!
- Emma Marohn was awarded the “Unsung Hero” award representing Kettering. Congratulations to Emma—our teams thank her for her dedication to Kettering and our Leadership program.
- Won the Exceptional Service Project Award for our 4 annual blood drives, serving the Waterford community by helping to save lives.
- Thank you to senior members Emily Nuttall and Emily Shaner for their work in submitting for this award.
- Sophomore, Bailey Carley applied and interviewed for a spot on the State Student Board of Delegates for next year, a process that will soon be decided, to become an active state member of the MASC/MAHS Board of Delegates for 2022-2023.
- Won for the seventh straight year, the Award of Excellence, top honor at the State level
- Thank you to your senior class president and vice president, Alex Springer and Giselle Millan for working to submit this huge award.
- Received the MASC/MAHS Star School award for our heavy involvement in school, community and MASC/MAHS involvement for the 2021-2022 year.
