Food & Nutrition
Welcome - Waterford School District Provides Free Breakfast and Lunch for All Students!
Nourishing Students for Success
In the Waterford School District, we believe that every meal is more than just food — it’s fuel for learning, growth, and success. Our Food Service Department is dedicated to providing delicious, high-quality, and nutrient-rich meals that support the whole child.
From breakfast to lunch, our team works hard to ensure that every student has access to balanced meals that not only taste great but also meet the highest standards of nutrition. We know that when students are nourished, they are better prepared to focus in the classroom, participate in activities, and become the very best versions of themselves.
Providing these meals is more than our responsibility — it is our commitment to the health, well-being, and future of every student we serve.

Education Benefits
Education Benefits Form – Please Complete
Our district is continuing to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2025–2026 school year. This means that every student enrolled in a district school will receive a healthy breakfast and lunch each day at no cost to your household—no forms or qualifications required for meals.
However, in order for our schools to keep this program and receive additional funding, we still need all families to complete the Education Benefits Form (previously called the Household Information Report).
Why This Form Matters:
Completing this form helps determine how much funding your child’s school receives from important state and federal programs like:
- Title I A
- At-Risk (31a)
- Title II A
- E-Rate (technology funding)
- These funds help support students and families in many ways, such as:
- Additional teachers, instructional staff, and learning materials
- Waivers for college application and standardized testing fees
- Discounts on home internet service
- Student transportation discounts (bus cards)
- Parent and community events and resources
- Technology in the classroom
Your information remains confidential, and the form only takes a few minutes to complete.
Thank you for helping us ensure continued support and resources for all students!

If there is a negative balance, payment can be made with check or cash to the school kitchen or by credit card on https://waterford.familyportal.cloud/ If the student has a positive balance, you may have the balance transferred to an account of another child who is remaining in the district or request a refund check. Please contact the Food & Nutrition Services Office at 248.682.0394 or lucasj01@wsdmi.org for assistance.

Nutrition & Fitness
Nutrition and Fitness
The winning recipe for a healthy lifestyle includes a combination of both good nutrition and physical activity. Your body needs a variety of nutrient rich foods to grow and prevent illness. And your body also needs to move and exercise every day.
Key things you need to know about leading a healthy lifestyle are:
- Eat a healthy diet that includes fruits, vegetables and whole grain products
- Control portion sizes and never "supersize"
- Get active for at least 60 minutes, five times a week for ages 6-18
- Avoid tobacco and illegal drugs all together
Well-nourished students have higher test scores, increased school attendance, improved concentration, and improved classroom behavior. Students, who are physically fit, sleep better and are better able to handle the physical and emotional challenges that they encounter during the day.
