Sweet Reads

Sweet Reads LogoThe Waterford School District launched its Sweet Reads Bookmobile in 2018, made possible with grant funding from the Waterford Foundation for Public Education and the Mary Lou Simmons Legacy Endowment. The Sweet Reads Bookmobile provides endless opportunities to read this summer and lessen summer reading loss.

The Sweet Reads Bookmobile visits designated neighborhoods surrounding the District's nine elementary schools and distributes free books to children. During these visits, children may exchange books for new books and receive free ice cream. The Sweet Reads Bookmobile is staffed by Waterford School District employees and District volunteers.
